Lisa Bruedigan is the Executive Director of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD), where she leads the organization’s national work in support of state and tribal radiation protection programs across the United States. She works closely with federal agencies, professional organizations, and international partners to strengthen radiation safety, regulatory programs, emergency preparedness, workforce development, and the exchange of technical expertise.
Before joining the CRCPD staff in 2025, Lisa completed a 28-year career with the Texas Department of State Health Services. She served as Director of the Radiation Section and previously as Director of the Surveillance Section within the Consumer Protection Division. Her responsibilities included statewide licensing, inspection, compliance, rulemaking, and emergency response programs for radioactive materials, medical and industrial X-ray, mammography, and lasers. Her career began in medical imaging, where she worked as a radiologic technologist, chief technologist, and radiation safety officer before moving into state radiation regulation.
A CRCPD volunteer leader for more than 15 years, Lisa served as CRCPD Chairperson in 2024 and held several other Board and committee leadership positions. She is a member of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements Program Area Committee 7 on radiation education, risk communication, outreach, and policy, and serves on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Technical Electronic Product Radiation Safety Standards Committee. She has presented internationally for the International Atomic Energy Agency and the World Institute for Nuclear Security and has supported radiation-protection training in the Republic of Korea.
Lisa has received CRCPD’s Gerald S. Parker Award of Merit and James W. Miller Award. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration and an associate degree in radiologic technology.
