FAQs

To ensure that your visit to Gold Coast and the experience of the conference is as enjoyable as possible, here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions which will hopefully provide you with all the information you need.
We encourage you to read through this before you attend. Please contact us if you have a question that we haven’t answered.

About Conference

Travel time between the Gold Coast Airport and the Conference Venue is approximately 50 minutes.

Taxi

A taxi rank is conveniently located at the southern end of the terminal, outside the domestic arrivals area.

Please refer to 13cabs or Black and White Cabs for bookings, fares and further information.

Ride Share Booking

For pre booked customers, the ride share pick up point is located at the northern end of the Terminal, outside the departures area.

Airport Transfers

Gold Coast Airport is located 27.6km from the conference venue, Sea World Resort Conference Centre, which is approximately 50 mins by car.

It costs approximately $29 per person for a single trip or $55 for a return trip from the Gold Coast airport to the Sea World Resort. The service the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast airports and the bus runs every hour from the airport. Public Transport

TransLink’s integrated network on the Gold Coast includes the G:link trams, Surfside Buslines and Queensland Rail.

Routes 777 and 760 depart from the airport with various stops:

Route 777 is a limited stop service, taking you to Broadbeach South tram station, where you can transfer on platform to the G:link for Surfers Paradise, Southport or other bus routes. Route 777 runs every 15 minutes from 7:00am to 7:00pm, seven days a week.

Car parking for all resort guests are located inside the resort, guest can find a spot and park or can park outside the resort as well if there is no space available. 

Dress code is smart casual.
The members of the conference organising committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident of loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Nor do we accept liability for any equipment or software brought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates staff if this does not occur.

All delegates and exhibitors will be provided with a name badge, which will give you access to all sessions. Please ensure you always wear your name badge.

If you have advised Leishman Associates of any special dietary requirements, the caterers at each function have been provided these. A special buffet table will be set during the day for special diets. If you are unsure, please see the staff at the Registration Desk.
Free wireless internet access is available for the duration of the Conference. The password and login details will be available closer to the Conference. PLEASE NOTE: The internet is not to be used to view or download any illicit material, including movies, music etc.

The registration desk is located at Sea World Resort Conference Centre Veranda.

Day Registrations – includes catering for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, entry to sessions on the day specified and name badge.

Full Conference Registrations – include catering for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, entry to two days of technical sessions and name badge as well as entry to the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner.

Cancellations must be received in writing, via email to Leishman Associates.

Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have a written confirmation from Leishman Associates. If you have not received an acknowledgement email within two business days, please contact Leishman Associates on (03) 6234 7844.

If you have booked your accommodation when you registered, your credit card details have been transferred to the hotel you have selected.

Full accommodation payment is due at the time of booking.

If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day you may find that you have forfeited your deposit.

Please email Sharon to cancel or change your accommodation prior to the Conference. Cancellations after booking accommodation will incur 100% cancellation fee equivalent to the full stay booked by the guest, as will no show bookings. 

If you alter your accommodation booking after you have checked in, please deal directly with the hotel. If you arrive 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, charges will apply.

A delegate list will be emailed out a week prior to the conference. (this is for sponsors and exhibitors), Printed delegate lists will
not be available at the conference. If you had selected privacy required when completing
your registration form, your name will not appear on the list.

Any changes to the Conference program will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with Leishman Associates staff at the Registration Desk.

Please bring your PowerPoint presentation with you when you register. All presentations need to be 16:9 in ratio.

All speakers should present themselves to the Speakers Preparation Room, located in C&E Boardroom at least 2 hours prior to their scheduled presentation time, to upload their presentation.

Speakers are also requested to assemble in their session room 5 minutes before the commencement of the session if possible, to meet with their session chair and to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio-visual equipment. A technician will be present in the room at all times. There will be facilities to test and modify your presentation if required.

During the break prior to your session, it is highly recommended that speakers go to their room and introduce themselves to the chairperson of their session. Each chairperson will be in their room at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the session.

You can also check that your presentation is working correctly with the AV technician in the room.

If you are a chairperson, you will receive chairpersons’ guidelines when you register at the registration desk. If you have additional questions, please contact Leishman Associates.
As a courtesy to other delegates, please ensure that all mobile phones are turned off or in silent mode during all sessions.

Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker. Committee members will be taking photographs at the conference. These photographs will be uploaded to the conference website post conference on the delegates only page. If you have any issues with being photographed, please notify the photographer or Leishman Associates staff.
