Dr Jane Canestra is the Chair of the Radiation Health and Safety Advisory Council (the Council) of the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency, ARPANSA. Jane was an Emergency Physician with extensive experience in Emergency Management and Public Health, in particular health sector preparedness for chemical, biological and radiological emergencies. Notably, Jane chaired the writing group for the 2012 Australian Clinical Guidelines for Radiological Emergencies commissioned by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee. She has been a member of Council for 11 years, and was appointed Chair in 2023.
