There are two presentation formats on offer at the Conference. You will be able to select a format that will suit you and your presentation.
All authors who have their submission accepted for presentation must register and pay for their attendance, at a minimum, for the day of the Conference on which they are presenting. Accepted presenters will be given access to the early bird discounted registration rates.
Oral presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, which includes time for questions and answers to be held at the conclusion of each presentation or at the end of the session.
Radiation protection in healthcare: This theme focuses on enhancing radiation safety in healthcare settings by integrating radiation protection into medical practice and healthcare service quality. It aims to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure through justification and optimization of radiological procedures and preventing accidental or unintended exposure.
Developments in radiation protection: This theme covers the evolution of radiation protection measures driven by new technologies, realisation of previously unidentified effects, and the development of recommendations and regulations. It highlights the continuous improvement in instrumentation, modelling, assessment methods, and quality control.
Environmental: This theme addresses the protection of human health and the environment from radioactive materials, including the disposal of radioactive waste and the management of NORM. It includes setting protective limits on radioactivity in soil, water, and air, and providing technical expertise and guidance for radiation protection.
Communication and engagement: This theme emphasizes the importance of effective communication and consultation strategies to promote openness, transparency and trust in radiation protection. It includes examples of stakeholder’s engagement, citizen science, education, provision of clear and accurate messages, and building public trust in regulatory bodies.
Operational radiation protection: This theme focuses on practical control measures to restrict exposure from external radiation and minimise internal exposure in an operational setting. It includes the development of occupational radiation protection programs, the implementation of measures to reduce radiation hazards and doses, and the safe handling, processing, and disposal of radioactive waste.
Emergency management: This theme covers the planning for, response to and recovery from radiological emergencies, including assessment, management, and protective measures. It includes planning, practicing teamwork, and using protective actions such as evacuation, decontamination, and appropriate medical treatments.
All ARPS presenters, whether invited or accepted via the call for abstracts, must be aware of and agree to the ARPS terms and conditions, including the speaker registration fee, and the privacy policy.
All presenters must register and pay for at least the day of the conference on which they are presenting. Presenters are entitled to register at the discounted early bird rate. Presenters must register before the early bird close deadline. After that date, sessions by unregistered presenters will be removed from the conference program.
Presenters are responsible for ensuring their sessions acknowledge the diversity of the sector and provide equitable access for all participants.
Presenters are responsible for obtaining appropriate copyright permissions for all presentation materials, including data, fonts, images etc. Citations and image credits must be included where appropriate.

Your PowerPoint slides (PDF Format) will be posted on the Conference website post-conference. You are required to give your permission for your presentation to be uploaded to the Conference website.

Your participation implies consent to potentially being filmed and your image or likeness being used in such materials. If you have any concerns or objections to being recorded, please notify the organisers in advance.
The following significant awards will be chosen by a panel of judges from presented abstracts and posters at the ARPS Conference. Winners will receive a monetary award and a framed certificate during the Closing Ceremony. You can indicate your interest in an award during the abstract submission process.
The winner of this award is expected to submit a short written paper, to be considered for publication in the ARPS Journal. The best oral presentation will be awarded AUD $500.
All poster presenters are automatically entered into the competition for this award. The best poster will be awarded AUD $200.

The winner of this award is expected to submit a short written paper, to be considered for publication in the ARPS Journal. Best Oral Presentation (Young Generation Network) will be awarded AUD $500.
