Henriëtte is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the mining and consulting industries, particularly in Australia and South Africa. Her career began as an occupational hygienist in the petrochemical industry and later in the ultra-deep gold-uranium mines in South Africa. During her time in the uranium mines, she became interested in the correlation between cancer clusters and radon gas underground, which fuelled her passion for understanding the complex interplay between radiation exposure, human health, and occupational hygiene.
Henriëtte’s expertise lies in radiation protection, occupational health, occupational hygiene, health management system development, auditing, and project OHSE management. She has spearheaded notable projects in health and safety, including developing Occupational Hygiene monitoring and health surveillance programs. Additionally, she has demonstrated her proficiency by designing and executing radiation management plans across diverse industries.
In 2018, Henriëtte embarked on a mission to make a lasting impact by inspiring the next generation through play-based STEAM workshops. She founded Maniacs-Learn through play, offering inclusive and enjoyable learning experiences to over 100 students each week. Henriëtte is dedicated to nurturing bright minds, empowering students to reach their full potential, and creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
